This class is for active (or retired) law enforcement officers ONLY.

Patrol Rifle 1 is for the law enforcement officer who is assigned a patrol rifle and wants to develop or refine their law enforcement rifle skills. The primary focus of this course is to establish proper operational safety, effective marksmanship, operational tactics and the elimination of malfunctions. The best suggested philosophies and techniques for transitions will be incorporated. The class focuses on the shooting positions required in the NJ Police Service Rifle Qualification Course. The class will include an overview of proper sight-in techniques, the use and proper mounting of optics.

Officers should bring 200 rounds of rifle ammunition and 50 rounds of handgun ammunition, patrol rifle, duty belt or tactical belt, handgun, body armor, class 2 uniform, proper footwear, eye and ear protection, range safety gear (tactical gloves optional).
