The Master Handgun Series is a three-part series of classes for the student looking to achieve a "Masters" in handgun operation, marksmanship and tactical defensive applications. A final testing component will consist of courses of fire that include problem solving in real world environments. The final testing phase is in a pass/fail format. A certificate of completion is not guaranteed. Are you up for the challenge?

Master Handgun #1: Operational Skills - this is an intensive class that focuses on the operation of the handgun and challenges the shooter to keep the handgun working. Students will be required to work through both staged shooter induced and equipment induced stoppages and malfunctions. The challenge of the course is to keep the gun operational. Students will develop the ability to keep their gun "running" as evaluated by stoppage identification, efficiency of motion for resolution, as well as time-tested challenges (against the shot-timer). Students will be further challenged by various environmental conditions (bright to night) and moving through to fire from various body positions and changing targets. Attending students should be able to safely operate their handgun with both their dominant and non-dominant hand.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to class.

Prerequisites: Completion of the Expert Handgun class series or the equivalent. The attendee should be competent with their handgun, holster and associated equipment. Attendee should possess skill sets that include safely and efficiently moving with a loaded handgun in a 360 degree spherical environment. Attending students should be able to safely operate their handgun with both dominant and non-dominant hand.

What to bring: Please bring your handgun, flashlight and/or a firearm mounted light, three (3) magazines (or two speed loaders for revolvers), magazine pouch, a duty/tactical belt/holster that properly and securely holds the handgun, 200 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection and proper range attire.
